We’ve just spent two weeks working with our Scouts discussing, what can be a troubling part of modern life – knives.

We discussed the law in the UK around knives and shared some of the knives we as leaders use in our daily lives. We then went through the safe usage of penknives, how to handle and work with their own knives. Two weeks of whittling taught our Scouts how to safely make kindling, and simple shapes and tools.
We only needed one sticking plaster!
